Hi, I am a military brat who now calls Virginia home. I have lived in Maryland, California, Texas and Virginia. Living in different parts of the country instilled in me a curiosity in people which led me to study psychology at Virginia Tech. While working with a health psychologist in an Army hospital after undergrad I saw first-hand the transformative power that psychology could have on chronic medical conditions and how psychological interventions could lessen -or eliminate!- some types of pain. Fascinating! I knew then that was the direction I wanted to take with my career. I enjoy helping people with a variety of chronic medical conditions, but I especially enjoy working with patients who experience Fibromyalgia, Obesity, IBS, Migraines and Insomnia. My approach to treatment is collaborative. Sessions with me feel like a conversation with a good friend, who does most of the listening. I will provide direction and guidance to help you make the changes you want to see in your life, and I will support you every step of the way.
On a more personal note, I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, hiking and spending time with family and friends. I have a Ragdoll cat, Charlie, who can often be heard in the background making his thoughts known in my telehealth sessions. His contributions to our work together are free of charge.
